Job summary

EVEREC in Madrid, Spain is seeking a Project Developer – PV & BESS to drive the development of solar PV, BESS and hybrid energy projects across Spain. The role covers site origination, permitting, RTB status and coordination with authorities and landowners.

You will work within a growing renewables team, supporting regulatory processes, project finance considerations and the full project lifecycle from development to commissioning.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Industrial, Energy Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with BESS and PV+BESS projects.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish energy regulations, permitting and grid connection.
• Experience coordinating with public authorities, landowners and stakeholders.
• Proficient in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical and regulatory development of solar PV, BESS and hybrid renewable energy projects.
• Oversee development activities from site origination and land acquisition through RTB.
• Coordinate permitting with local, regional and national authorities.
• Manage landowner agreements, payments and legal documentation.
• Support grid access and connection processes under Spanish regulations.

About the Opportunity

EVEREC is partnering with a growing renewable energy business in Spain that is expanding its solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) portfolio.

We are looking for a Project Developer – PV & BESS to support the development of renewable energy projects across Spain, from initial site identification and land acquisition through to Ready-to-Build (RTB) status.

This is an opportunity to join a growing team and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, including development, permitting, construction, commissioning and investment processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the technical and regulatory development of solar PV, BESS and hybrid renewable energy projects.
• Oversee project development activities from site origination and land acquisition through to RTB.
• Coordinate with local, regional and national authorities to progress permitting and administrative approvals.
• Manage relationships with landowners, including agreements, payment tracking and legal documentation.
• Support grid access and connection processes in line with Spanish energy regulations.
• Assist with technical due diligence, project acquisitions and M&A activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, legal, financial and external stakeholder teams.
• Provide support during construction and commissioning phases when required.
• Monitor project milestones, identify potential risks and ensure development timelines are maintained.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience working on BESS and PV + BESS hybridisation projects.
• Degree in Electrical, Industrial, Energy Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of Spanish renewable energy regulations, permitting and grid connection procedures.
• Experience coordinating with public authorities, landowners and external stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Valid driving licence.
• Exposure to project finance and renewable energy investment processes.
• Experience supporting the construction or commissioning of solar PV or BESS projects.
• Involvement in technical due diligence, project acquisitions or renewable energy transactions.
• Experience in data centre development or associated energy infrastructure.
