Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC Project Control Manager for an important client in Turkey as part of our Project Controls team within our Oil & Gas business. Due to the nature of the projects and client, the position will be based in Turkey.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Controls Manager with a proven track record in robust cost and schedule management, ideally coming from a cost control background, to take on a high value portfolio of projects for a high-profile client.

Expected Qualifications

  1. Degree in an engineering or relevant discipline.
  2. Twenty (20) years of experience in planning, progress measurement, cost control, change management and document control on all project phases from front end design through to construction completion which should have been gained in the refinery, petrochemicals or oil and gas industries.
  3. Significant experience and capability in management of contracts, budgeting, controlling costs, planning, scheduling, and management of change.
  4. Knowledgeable across engineering, procurement, and constructions execution.

  • Understands the use and applications of Project Controls department tools and systems.
  • Builds knowledge networks and creates and maintains a global network of subject matter experts inside and outside their team and Wood.
  • Ability to think analytically, conceptually, and adaptively, and make sense of new information across multiple levels of detail.
  • Able to address substantive conflicts and facilitate timely resolution, builds collaborative relationships, engages others, fosters teamwork, aligns differences.
  • Good mentoring skills, teaches, coaches, and mentors to help assure individual and team success as well as develop the next generation.
  • Able to foster development of a common vision and collaboration among team members and teams across geographical and cultural boundaries, promotes open expression of ideas, encourages and empowers others to achieve.
  • Ensure EPC contractor and planning and reporting is structured for incorporating into overall Directorate reporting.
  • Monitor EPC contractors schedule and progress with progress and milestone verification to support payment and monitor PMC cost and manpower.
  • Review EPC contractor's proposals for changes in the work.
  • Review EPC contractor's costs for changes in the scope.
  • Monitor PMC performance in document review periods and hold points.
  • Review and monitor procurement activities.
  • Monitor EPC contractor’s project control activities particularly regarding planning, scheduling and forecasting, likely threats and risks to meeting the overall project completion date.
  • Review EPC contractor's actual progress against planned progress.
  • Review EPC contractor’s monthly report and contribute to PMC monthly report.
  • Attend regular progress meetings.
  • Review actual site progress against planned progress, particularly regarding manpower levels, productivity, construction metrics and payment.
  • Ensure the maintenance of both time and cost trend statistics.
  • Monitor and compare schedule and cost reports and relaying conclusions such that PMC management is alerted at the right time.
  • Co-ordinate of the final job statistics and analyze the effectiveness of procedures for possible improvement on future projects.
  • Provide feedback on key project issues to Department Management on a timely basis.
