Humber River Health’s Surgical Program is a leader in regional-based surgical care and practice. The Surgical Program is comprised of a highly skilled, engaged team of surgeons, anaesthesiologists, nurses, advanced practice nurses, and allied health team members committed to the consistent application of evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
Position Objective :
Reporting to the Vice President Clinical, the Program Director, Surgical Services provides strategic leadership oversight for the delivery of the surgical services portfolio (Surgical Pre-Screening, Endoscopy, Surgical Clinics, Bariatric Program, NSQIP, Acute Pain Service and Medical-Surgical Inpatient Care Units) delivering quality patient care services that meet legal, regulatory, and professional requirements aligned with corporate goals and objectives.
Career Experience and Core Competencies :
Master’s Degree in Nursing or related discipline, registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO), and clinical experience in acute services coupled with at least five years management experience working with a medical dyad partner and experience in business planning, resource management, program planning, development, evaluation and managing patient care services is required for this role.
