Overview

Infinera Subsea (SLTE) professional service engineers are highly skilled individuals with expert knowledge of all Infinera products and applications focused on SLTE and SLTE backhaul solutions. They serve as the first point of contact for Infinera customers for all services and support activities. The engineers work closely with Infinera partners, EF&I, SLTE, TAC, the account team, other departments, and directly with customers to ensure world-class support.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Proficiency in all supported releases of Infinera products
• Presenting demonstrations to customers
• Providing technical assistance from product trial through implementation
• Managing operational aspects of customer trials and deployment, including resolving customer problems, generating operational review reports, and conducting operational reviews
• Communicating with headquarters and providing technical expertise to local teams
• Planning, managing, and executing SOW/contract deliverables
• Assisting with customer-specific test plans and managing high-visibility technical issues
• Leading technical meetings and conducting type approval testing, lab, and field trials
• Supporting deployment and integration onsite
• Participating in kick-off meetings covering all operational aspects
• Writing methods of procedures for technical activities

Sales and Services Role:

Acting as a sales representative for technical services by leveraging technical expertise, marketing services, and attending customer meetings. Collaborating with Business Development to analyze service success and address gaps. Extensive travel and customer meetings are integral.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Providing quotes and working with partners to deliver services
• Supporting sales in conveying the benefits of Infinera Professional Services

Position Requirements:

• Deep knowledge of SLTE, including deployments over legacy and new cable systems
• Skills in system optimization, build-out, and performance testing
• Understanding of SLTE, wet-plant, and terrestrial backhaul systems
• Ability to assess cable systems for upgrades and create detailed MOPs
• Excellent communication, technical, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in troubleshooting embedded software, hardware, and network management systems
• Strong background in long-haul or inter-office optical networking, including DWDM, SONET/SDH, Ethernet
• Experience with TCP/IP protocols, Layer 2 and 3 network design
• Experience with network management software and deployment of submarine networks

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or extensive relevant experience supporting high-speed optical networking products.
