The school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Spanish Teacher to join our fantastic team. This is a Temporary (Cover) position.
About the role
The post holder will teach Spanish in as effective manner as possible to the range of abilities within our student body and to promote a genuinely positive approach to the subject. You will teach using a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning, meeting the demands of the syllabus and the needs of the students. Provide or contribute to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual or groups of students. Use data, both externally and internally produced, to assess student performance and to develop appropriate courses of action.

- To teach using a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning, meeting the demands of the syllabus and the needs of the students.
- To provide or contribute to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual or groups of students.
- To maintain discipline in accordance with the school's procedures and encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour and standards of work.
- To assess students' work in line with school policies and procedures referring to student performance targets.
- Monitoring and evaluating: To use data, both externally and internally produced, to assess student performance and to develop appropriate courses of action.
- To review methods of teaching on a regular basis.
- To produce annual reports and mid-term grades for all students taught.
- 3. Other responsibilities: To participate in the school's staff development programme.
- To continue personal development in relevant areas especially subject knowledge & teaching methods.
- To engage actively with the school's performance management programme.
- To act as a form tutor.
- To help with extra-curricular activities as required.
- To work as a member of a team, positively contributing to effective working relations within the school.
- To attend open evenings and parents' evenings.
- To attend morning assemblies and staff morning briefing unless on duty.
The candidate needs :
EITHER a degree in Spanish (Filología / Estudios Hispánicos) or in a humanities subject with 24 credits related to Lengua and / or literature OR to have taught Lengua in another school for at least 12 months.
- The CAP or Master's in Secondary Education or, if trained in England, a PGCE recognised as the Spanish Master's or the reconocimiento a la profesión.
