About You and this Role
As a Product Owner at Liferay, you are the voice of our product. You are responsible for maximising the value of work done by the development team. As a key member of our global product team, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process from discovery to delivery. You will work directly with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to ship meaningful and exciting products.

Key Objectives
Communicates the product vision and how features align with it to product team/squad members.
Maximize the value delivered by the product through effective backlog management and prioritization.
Define iterations and stories and accept iteration increments.
In collaboration with the team lead, provides technical guidance to the development team, ensuring that the product is built with the appropriate architecture, scalability, and performance standards
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on product priorities and roadmap.
Translate complex technical requirements and challenges into clear, actionable user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria for the engineering team.
Plan the sprint. You are the primary source for story detail and priorities and have the responsibility of accepting the final sprint plan
Measure and analyze key product metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
Mentor product team members and contribute to the overall growth and success of the product organization.
Required Qualifications
4+ years of software experience in either a development or Product Owner role
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant experience
A solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and popular frontend frameworks/libraries (React, Bootstrap, Vue.js, etc.) and Web Development fundamentals (browser behavior, responsive design, performance optimization, etc.).
Ability to speak and write English fluently
Humble and collaborative
Flexible and adaptable to change
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience with Jobs-to-be-Done (JTBD) framework is a plus
Experience creating accessible products that meets WCAG 2.1 AA while actively advocating for inclusive design is a plus
This position requires traveling a few times a year
