remoteo is seeking a Product Owner to bridge the energy sector and software development. You will join a small product team, define what the platform should do, and own parts of the product end to end—from discovery to delivery.

You will start by exploring different areas of the platform to understand users and needs. You will discuss asset manager needs, translate insights into proposals, define end-to-end features, and work closely with engineering and design to deliver value.

Formación

• Engineering degree required or equivalent.
• 3-5 years in a product role (PO/BA) or close collaboration with software teams.
• Experience in energy sector (renewables, storage, grid ops, energy trading).
• Ability to translate complex needs into practical requirements.
• Familiarity with agile tools like Jira or Monday.com.
• Fluent English.

Our client builds a software platform that helps owners and operators of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) monitor, control and optimise their assets. They combine deep expertise in energy storage and renewables with data analytics, so that more clean energy can reliably power the grid. They are a team of around 25 people who value user focus, transparency, reliability, and data-driven decisions.

The role

You will be the bridge between the energy world and the software team. You'll join a small product team, working closely with the Head of Innovation and the Product Designer, and use your understanding of how energy assets are operated to define what the platform should do. It's a hands-on role: you'll own parts of the product end to end, from discovery to delivery. At the start you'll work across different areas of the platform to get to know the product and its users.

What you will do

• Talk to asset managers and operators of renewable and storage assets to understand their daily challenges.
• Turn those insights into clear proposals, backed by evidence, to help shape the roadmap.
• Define features end to end: epics, user stories, business rules and acceptance criteria.
• Build and test prototypes together with the Product Designer.
• Own and prioritise the backlog for your area.
• Work closely with the engineering team: explain the energy side, hand over requirements and clarify doubts.
• Review finished work and accept it from a product point of view.
• Support Sales and Delivery from time to time with product and domain knowledge.

What we are looking for

• A degree in Engineering, ideally with a master's in energy, renewables or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a product role (Product Owner, Business Analyst or similar), or experience working closely with software teams to define tools or requirements.
• Experience in the energy sector: renewables, battery storage, asset management, grid operations, energy trading or energy consulting.
• A good understanding of how energy assets are operated and what their owners care about.
• Ability to turn complex needs into clear, practical requirements.
• Familiarity with agile methods and tools such as Jira or Monday.com.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Specific experience with BESS, or with monitoring and optimisation of energy assets.
• Experience with B2B SaaS or industrial software products.
• Experience with user research or prototyping.
• Experience with data analytics, AI-enabled or data-driven products.
• A CSPO, PSPO or similar certification.
