Job summary
Q-tech, a Barcelona-based energy software company, is seeking a Product Owner to bridge the energy world and the software team. You will join a small product team, working closely with the Head of Innovation and the Product Designer, and use your understanding of how energy assets are operated to define what the platform should do.
It's a hands-on role: you'll own parts of the product end to end, from discovery to delivery.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree (preferably master in energy, renewables or related field).
- 3-5 years in a product role (Product Owner, BA) or close collaboration with software teams.
- Experience in energy sector: renewables, battery storage, grid ops, energy trading or consulting.
- Understanding of how energy assets are operated and what owners care about.
- Translate complex needs into clear, practical requirements.
- Familiarity with agile methods and tools such as Jira or Monday.com.
Responsibilities
- Talk to asset managers and operators to understand daily challenges.
- Turn insights into proposals to shape roadmap.
- Define features end to end: epics, user stories, acceptance criteria.
- Build and test prototypes with Product Designer.
- Own and prioritise the backlog for your area.
- Work with engineering: explain energy side, hand over requirements.
- Review finished work from a product perspective.
- Support Sales and Delivery with product/domain knowledge.
