This application track is for a product management position on Ubuntu Desktop. This role offers an opportunity for a technical leader to :

  • Drive the vision of our desktop experience
  • Lead the desktop product roadmap
  • Build partnerships with silicon vendors and OEMs

  • Define future business models considering the competitive landscape
  • Engage with the Ubuntu user community, partners, hardware manufacturers, and key customers to enable success and go-to-market strategies

The role involves product leadership and go-to-market strategy, translating vision into plans and market launches. Product managers oversee the entire lifecycle, blending technical expertise, strategic thinking, analytics, project management, and communication to meet user needs and business goals.

Location : This role is remote within the EMEA region, and you are expected to reside there.

The responsibilities include :

  • Leading product development lifecycle, setting priorities and goals
  • Collaborating with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams
  • Addressing challenges, aligning priorities, enabling decisions, and ensuring execution
  • Conducting market research, analyzing trends, and gathering customer feedback
  • Communicating product vision, status, and decisions
  • Performing usability testing, analyzing feedback, and iterating
  • Developing go-to-market strategies, documentation, and training with marketing, sales, support
  • Supporting sales efforts, reviewing feedback, and participating in customer meetings

Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of computer architecture, application development, enterprise IT, cloud, or devices

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 4 times a year for up to two weeks

Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with Linux ecosystems, silicon and hardware ecosystems, and connected device technologies.
