The Role :

We are looking for a Product Manager to join a newly established team within Frontiers. This new unit is set to revolutionize scientific data management and collaboration. We are developing a platform designed to address the challenges researchers, funders, and academic institutions face in data sharing and utilization by leveraging state-of-the-art technology. As we move towards the official launch of our product, we seek a Product Manager who possesses proven expertise in Product Management and a comprehensive understanding of the academic and scientific landscapes.

What You Will Do :

• Own the Product Vision and Roadmap : Align the product vision and roadmap to market and stakeholder requirements. Communicate and secure the organization’s understanding and buy-in.
• Identify User Needs : Identify users and their needs based on evidence. Maintain a deep understanding of the target users. Take full ownership of the user experience and collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to create outcomes that add the most value.
• Act as Scrum Product Owner : Manage the entire product and development life cycle. Act as Scrum Product Owner for a development team (near- or off-shore).
• Collaboration and Communication : Constantly communicate with all stakeholders in the appropriate language and abstraction level. Work closely with designers, developers, and stakeholders to achieve product goals. Collaborate with product marketing to ensure consistent, clear messaging of the product and its features. Integrate feedback from product marketing into the roadmap.
• Specifications and Reporting : Write functional and technical specifications. Define, track, and regularly report on KPIs and other metrics.

Requirements :

• Proven track record in product management, preferably in tech product development.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Deep understanding of the academic landscape and its stakeholders.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience with data management platforms.
• Proficiency with Figma for design collaboration.
• Ability to fully own the user experience and maintain a deep understanding of the target users.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency with product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).
• Adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
