The R1SC Operations team is at the core of our customer safety practices at Amazon. As a Senior Compliance Associate with German language skills, you will uphold high standards of product compliance, collaborating closely with Amazon colleagues and external vendors. This role offers daily opportunities to deepen your understanding of compliance complexities and develop expertise in the field.

This position is a Fixed Term Contract, with employment for a specified period.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Search for and classify products according to Amazon’s regulatory obligations based on SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
  2. Report violations of rules, regulations, and policies, evaluating or recommending investigative and corrective actions.
  3. Follow SOPs and instructions from managers.
  4. Contribute ideas for process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
  5. Communicate with stakeholders, providing guidance and updating Lead/Manager as needed.
  6. Train and mentor other Associates.
  7. Engage with sellers regarding product compliance documentation and reinstatement processes.
A Day in the Life

As a Senior Compliance Associate with German, you will prioritize safety for colleagues, vendors, and customers. Our team spans the globe—from China and India to Jordan, Poland, the Netherlands, and Costa Rica—serving as a key reference point for product compliance. You will leverage your analytical skills and attention to detail daily to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring nothing is overlooked. Building positive relationships with vendors and colleagues, facilitating clear communication across all levels, and maintaining a safety-first mindset will be integral to your role.

About the Team

Our Compliance team ensures adherence to global and local regulations, laws, and safety standards. Some team members focus on the safe import of restricted products; others classify products to ensure customers receive appropriate safety warnings and understand potential risks. We adopt a long-term approach to compliance, utilizing data, automation, and advanced systems to improve the shopping experience. Our team is distributed worldwide, including regions like China, India, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and South America, supporting colleagues globally in maintaining safety and compliance.

Minimum Requirements
  • Proficiency in English (B1/B2) and German (B1/B2).
  • Relevant experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills to identify patterns in large data sets.
  • Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
  • High school diploma.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a data-driven business environment.
  • Experience in client services and relationship development.
  • Decision-making skills in ambiguous situations.
  • Extensive internet research skills.
  • Understanding of product safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in a language other than English.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL.
