Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.
To be part of this project, we are looking for a Product Assurance Engineer whose responsibilities will be as follows:
Activities:
- Support to the definition, design, development and oversight of a telecommunications satellite constellation program in the areas of Product and Quality Assurance disciplines.
- Monitor and control all the technical and management aspects of the Quality Assurance disciplines, during spacecraft, subsystem, unit and sub-assembly design, manufacturing and test phases: selection and procurement of electrical & electronic parts, selection and qualification of materials and processes, reliability, safety, hardware and software quality assurance, configuration control.
- Oversee and control the work carried out by manufacturer to ensure the adequate implementation of IRIS2 product / quality assurance requirements throughout the program.
- Provide Hispasat IRIS2 Program office with a high level of spacecraft technical product assurance expertise for all activities associated with the design, development, manufacturing and tests of spacecrafts.
- Monitor the PA activities during the spacecraft, platform and payload assembly, integration and test activities at the contractor facilities.
- Participate in project design and test reviews at multiple levels (system, satellite and unit).
- Interact with the end-to-end system development team to ensure requirements traceability and associated verification plan.
- Carry out the hardware & software acceptance reviews in coordination with the program office.
- Manage the non-conformance control system. To assess technical residual risks associated to the non-conformances and waivers, and decide on their acceptability.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and participation in unit design, manufacturing and testing review meetings.
- Preparation and participation in subsystem design, manufacturing and testing review meetings.
- Preparation and participation in system design, manufacturing and testing review meetings.
- Preparation and participation in Mandatory Inspection Points at unit, subsystem and satellite levels.
- Preparation and participation in Parts, Materials and Processes Control Boards.
- Preparation and participation in program audits.
- Preparation and participation in the launch campaign.
- Preparation and participation in the In Orbit Test Campaign.
- Preparation of weekly reports of activities.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar.
- 10-year experience on a similar position with hands-on experience or exposure in either satellite procurement, satellite equipment manufacturing or payload / platform in-orbit operations in GEO and / or LEO.
- Experience in managing large EU and ESA projects.
- Deep knowledge of space qualified parts, materials and processes for Payload and Platform equipment.
- Deep knowledge of space product and quality assurance standards.
- Deep knowledge of equipment inspection techniques for Payload and Platform equipment.
- Deep knowledge of reliability engineering activities: reliability prediction analysis, FMECA, parts stress analysis, work case analysis, critical item control, availability and outage analysis.
- Demonstrated skills in the area of manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing oversight at unit, subsystem and satellite levels.
- Demonstrated skills in the area of units and satellite equipment and facilities requirements for manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing.
- Strong knowledge of software development environment.

Other Requirements:
- Native to a EU member state and willing to undergo an EU secret clearance process.
