Formación

Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.

To be part of this project, we are looking for a Product Assurance Engineer whose responsibilities will be as follows:

Activities:

  1. Support to the definition, design, development and oversight of a telecommunications satellite constellation program in the areas of Product and Quality Assurance disciplines.
  2. Monitor and control all the technical and management aspects of the Quality Assurance disciplines, during spacecraft, subsystem, unit and sub-assembly design, manufacturing and test phases: selection and procurement of electrical & electronic parts, selection and qualification of materials and processes, reliability, safety, hardware and software quality assurance, configuration control.
  3. Oversee and control the work carried out by manufacturer to ensure the adequate implementation of IRIS2 product / quality assurance requirements throughout the program.
  4. Provide Hispasat IRIS2 Program office with a high level of spacecraft technical product assurance expertise for all activities associated with the design, development, manufacturing and tests of spacecrafts.
  5. Monitor the PA activities during the spacecraft, platform and payload assembly, integration and test activities at the contractor facilities.
  6. Participate in project design and test reviews at multiple levels (system, satellite and unit).
  7. Interact with the end-to-end system development team to ensure requirements traceability and associated verification plan.
  8. Carry out the hardware & software acceptance reviews in coordination with the program office.
  9. Manage the non-conformance control system. To assess technical residual risks associated to the non-conformances and waivers, and decide on their acceptability.

Responsibilities:

  1. Preparation and participation in unit design, manufacturing and testing review meetings.
  2. Preparation and participation in subsystem design, manufacturing and testing review meetings.
  3. Preparation and participation in system design, manufacturing and testing review meetings.
  4. Preparation and participation in Mandatory Inspection Points at unit, subsystem and satellite levels.
  5. Preparation and participation in Parts, Materials and Processes Control Boards.
  6. Preparation and participation in program audits.
  7. Preparation and participation in the launch campaign.
  8. Preparation and participation in the In Orbit Test Campaign.
  9. Preparation of weekly reports of activities.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar.
  2. 10-year experience on a similar position with hands-on experience or exposure in either satellite procurement, satellite equipment manufacturing or payload / platform in-orbit operations in GEO and / or LEO.
  3. Experience in managing large EU and ESA projects.
  4. Deep knowledge of space qualified parts, materials and processes for Payload and Platform equipment.
  5. Deep knowledge of space product and quality assurance standards.
  6. Deep knowledge of equipment inspection techniques for Payload and Platform equipment.
  7. Deep knowledge of reliability engineering activities: reliability prediction analysis, FMECA, parts stress analysis, work case analysis, critical item control, availability and outage analysis.
  8. Demonstrated skills in the area of manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing oversight at unit, subsystem and satellite levels.
  9. Demonstrated skills in the area of units and satellite equipment and facilities requirements for manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing.
  10. Strong knowledge of software development environment.

Recommendable:

  1. Highly collaborative individual, able to build relationships internally and externally across all levels and functions.
  2. Capacity to deal with complex situations with assertiveness.

Other Requirements:

  1. Native to a EU member state and willing to undergo an EU secret clearance process.
  2. Fluency in English, both written and spoken; any other European language is considered an asset.

Be able to provide 24 / 7 on-call support during satellite system and Payload / Platform testing.
