Job Title: Procurement Responsible Sourcing Lead
Location: Madrid, Spain, UK - hybrid (50% working time at the office)
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent
You will build and run AVEVA's supplier decarbonisation workstream under Responsible Sourcing Program.
The role will stand up the end-to-end operating model-supplier segmentation, engagement journey, governance cadence, tools, data validation, and reporting-and then execute it year-on-year. Success will be measured by increased supplier participation, improved emissions data quality, and supplier inputs translated into credible action plans and internal reporting. We are specifically looking for someone who has already designed and scaled a supplier engagement programme in a previous organisation.
Day-to-day activities include supplier emissions tracking, supplier enablement and handholding, running the governance cadence, managing the engagement plan and follow-ups, performing submission quality checks/validation, educating internal stakeholders and producing internal progress reporting.
Supplier decarbonisation workstream
Build and execute the supplier decarbonisation engagement plan aligned to AVEVA targets and reporting needs.
Prioritise and tier suppliers using data-led screening (e.g., spend/contract proxies, materiality indicators, supplier GHG maturity, ability to influence).
Partner with category/relationship owners to confirm supplier ownership, engagement routes, and tiered expectations.
Deliver enablement at scale (webinars, office hours, FAQs, templates) plus targeted 1:1 support for low-maturity suppliers.
Establish and run a follow-up and escalation model for non-participation or repeated low-quality submissions.
Operate the data collection workflow using existing tools (e.g., Watershed or other supplier engagement platforms) and support scale-up planning as supplier volume increases.
Implement an assurance-ready supplier emissions data approach in collaboration with advisory support and internal stakeholders, defining minimum data requirements (Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant upstream Scope 3), validation checks, and evidence expectations.
Provide supplier guidance on data expectations and common pitfalls and validate submissions through desk-based completeness and plausibility checks-driving clarifications and resubmissions as needed.
Maintain audit-ready documentation ( methodology notes, decision logs, evidence packs, and review records) to support assurance requests.
Where appropriate , develop lightweight automation (e.g., dashboards/surveys) to improve tracking and feedback loops as requirements grow.
Translate supplier emissions submissions into credible action plans (milestones, owners, timelines, expected impact).
Identify feasible decarbonisation levers relevant to AVEVA's indirect supply chain and share practical recommendations with suppliers (e.g., renewable electricity, energy efficiency, cloud/IT optimisation, travel, logistics , facilities models).
Track progress, manage follow-ups, and ensure closure evidence is retained.
Demonstrated experience designing, delivering supplier decarbonisation / Scope 3 supplier engagement ( experience in indirect supply chains strongly preferred).
Strong working knowledge of GHG concepts including Scope 1 , 2 and 3, building organisational inventory and operational boundaries, activity -base d vs spend based approaches, emissions factor concepts, and data quality/validation principles.
Experience running supplier emissions data collection (Scope 1/2 and selected upstream Scope 3) and improving data quality over time.
Strong programme management and ability to drive delivery through a matrix, including stakeholder alignment, prioritisation, follow-up cadence, and escalation.
Proven supplier engagement capability: pragmatic coaching/handholding, clear expectation-setting, and professional escalation when required .
Evidence of delivery outcomes (e.g., improved supplier participation, uplift in data-
