Job Description:

Responsibilities

  1. Source raw materials and scout new suppliers and technologies in the area of responsibility, negotiate and conclude deals in accordance with the delegated scope
  2. Design, maintain and implement sourcing strategies for designated product groups and geographies, develop relationships with suppliers as per strategic requirements
  3. Design and lead optimization projects to generate value for the organization, identify & execute improvement potentials, challenge status quo, de-specification and re-risking, etc. to realize Clariant objectives
  4. Monitor and analyze the market developments and supply availability; forecast prices of strategic spend segments
  5. Align with the supplier base and execute projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and drive sustainability initiatives in connection with Clariant strategy and policies
  6. Build and cultivate cross functional strategic stakeholder relationships to create value for the organization, build and deepen business acumen.
  7. Support the direct procurement category globally.

Requirements

  1. Education related to business and procurement. Master's degree in Business Administration, Chemistry, and/or Chemical Engineering
  2. Strong track record in Procurement and Project Management; experience in other areas is an advantage
  3. Technical experience in direct procurement buying metals and catalysts (zinc, nickel, alumina, palladium, etc.)
  4. Demonstrated capability in contract negotiation and long-term relationship building (internal and external)
  5. Excellent English and communication skills for global interactions; German language is an advantage
  6. Experience in different cultural environments or fields of business or comparable level of exposure
