Hydro Aluminium Metal a leading supplier of extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, foundry alloys, wire rods and high-purity aluminum with a global production network of around 5,000 employees. Business unit Recycling within Aluminium Metal operates seven recycling plants and a scrap sorting plant, and we are aiming for no less than industry leadership in aluminium recycling.

Roles and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our Recycling plant in Azuqueca.

As a key member of the management team, Process Engineer will lead the implementation, sponsorship, and ongoing support of continuous reliability improvement standards and practices across all processes.

Functions:

  • Lead the implementation, sponsorship, and ongoing support of continuous reliability improvement standards and practices across all processes.
  • Collaborate daily with HSE, quality, production, maintenance and other departments to support problem solving and to follow improvement opportunities
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and drive improvements aimed at reducing waste and variation in operations.
  • Conduct system checks to verify that processes and designs are functioning as intended and in compliance with established specifications.
  • Analyse operational data to optimize methods and ensure the ongoing effectiveness of systems.
  • Drive the capture, documentation, and standardization of best practices across shifts, focusing on consistent training and performance optimization.
  • Develop and present business cases to address and reduce process variation and waste.
  • Identify, plan and execute re-engineering solutions focused on continuous improvements working with the different production departments.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement new process techniques and procedures.
  • Continuously analyse manufacturing process flows to enhance quality, reduce costs, and increase throughput.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to define product specifications, arrange procurement of parts/materials, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Work closely with the Production and Maintenance team to develop and deliver technical training for staff.
  • Provide engineering support to troubleshoot and solve technical issues in Production
  • Design and approve tooling prior to fabrication.
Required Qualifications and Skills

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar position
  • Technical training with higher education or engineering.
  • Solid knowledge of automation, data management and
  • Experience in project management and coordination of planned activities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in computer tools and maintenance management software.
  • Commitment to safety, the environment and compliance with current and internal regulations.
  • Fluent English: Minimum Advanced level B2
  • Indispensable resident in Madrid or Guadalajara province.
