Job summary

Ria Money Transfer is seeking a Privacy Counsel to provide legal and strategic guidance on data protection and privacy compliance across the organization.

The role involves supporting the Privacy Office and EU business teams, drafting DPAs and data transfer agreements, and addressing regulatory requirements, while contributing to PIAs and notices in a dynamic multi-jurisdictional setting.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer in EU/EEA jurisdiction.
• At least 3 years experience in a corporate, consulting, or law-firm environment.
• Hands-on exposure to data protection, privacy, compliance, or regulatory work.
• Fluent English as a working language with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a matrixed, multi-entity and multi-jurisdictional environment.
• Nice to have GDPR exposure or privacy certifications such as IAPP CIPP/E.

Responsibilities

• Support the Privacy Office and EU business teams by providing basic data protection and privacy guidance, under supervision.
• Draft and review Data Privacy and Data Transfer Agreements with local counsel and negotiate with third parties.
• Address local regulatory requirements and day-to-day compliance topics.
• Prepare and review Data Privacy Notices and Cookie Notices for websites and apps.
• Document data processing activities, including lawful bases and data transfers, and contribute to PIAs.
• Monitor local data protection developments and share updates with stakeholders.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The role of a Privacy Counselat Euronet involves supporting legal and strategic guidance on data protection and privacy compliance across the organization.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Privacy Office and EU business teams by providing basic data protection and privacy guidance, under supervision, to help manage privacy risks and support business needs.
• Assist with drafting and reviewing Data Privacy and Data Transfer Agreements in cooperation with local internal counsel and support negotiations with third parties.
• Support Privacy Consultants in addressing local regulatory requirements and day-to-day compliance topics.
• Assist in the preparation and review of Data Privacy Notices and Cookie Notices for company websites and applications.
• Support documentation of data processing activities, including identifying lawful bases for processing, data transfers, and contributing to Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
• Monitor developments in local data protection regulations and help share relevant updates with the Privacy Office and business stakeholders while managing multiple tasks and priorities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Qualified lawyer (admitted or in the final stage of qualification) in EU/EEA jurisdiction
• At least 3 years experience in a corporate, consulting, or law-firm environment
• Initial hands-on exposure to data protection, privacy, compliance, or regulatory work
• Fluent English as a working language, with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a matrixed, multi-entity and multi-jurisdictional environment, with good judgment on when to elevate
• NICE TO HAVE:
  • Hands-on exposure to GDPR compliance activities (e.g. DPAs, international data transfers, DPIAs/PIAs, RoPA, DSRs, breach handling)
  • Formal privacy training or strong interest in pursuing certifications such as IAPP CIPP/E or ISO-related privacy paths
  • Additional language skills (Lithuanian and/or other EU languages) or prior exposure to financial services / FinTech
