The Role

This position is for a Principal SDET – Software Development Engineer in Test, responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of automation test frameworks for our next-generation software platform, which includes computer vision, machine learning, sensor fusion, coaching workflows, reporting, alert management engines, and high-accuracy vehicle event analysis engines. The successful candidate will provide technical automation leadership within the Software QA Team and oversee all aspects of the QA process. This role requires solid experience testing N-Tier application services and data platforms within an Agile environment, with a good understanding of databases.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, document, and maintain tools, test cases, and automation frameworks for current and future software platforms
• Collaborate with Product Management, Software Engineering, DevOps, and other technical teams in release planning and coordination
• Interpret functional requirements and designs to develop, write, execute, and automate functional and data validation test plans
• Work with engineering and infrastructure teams on strategy and maintenance for TDD / CI / CD environments
• Provide feedback to influence the design process to facilitate building a testable platform, applications, and data models
• Ensure quality, performance, and reliability from day one
• Participate actively in Agile scrum teams, driving effective technical execution and communication
• Document and communicate module and automation framework functions, interfaces, performance criteria, test cases, and results
• Estimate effort, schedule, and develop tasks to meet project milestones
• Conduct defect management activities, including problem identification, issue research, analysis, and documentation
• Collaborate with development teams for unit-test reviews, issue diagnosis, resolution, and closure
• Lead or assist in data analysis to determine data health and root causes of issues
• Lead the technical vision of assigned products
• Train engineers on new tools, methodologies, and technologies
• Mentor engineers and support their growth
• Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and quality
• Propose technical solutions and conduct POCs for new tools and applications

What You’ll Bring

Must have :

• BS in Computer Science or related field, or 13 years of relevant technical experience
• 12+ years of professional experience in object-oriented programming
• Knowledge of and experience with full development lifecycle, code standards, source control, building, and testing
• Experience developing and testing in C# or Java
• Experience with Appium and Selenium libraries for testing
• Experience designing and implementing mobile applications for iOS and Android
• Experience building scalable, maintainable, and high-performance test automation frameworks
• Strong experience in developing end-to-end test strategies
• Prior experience working in an Agile environment
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proactive problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

• Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux)
• Experience with microservice architecture
• Experience with API testing and backend testing
