We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to work closely with one of our main clients in the financial sector.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand needs and design solutions that promote a data-driven culture.
- Lead strategic prototyping workshops to clarify objectives and facilitate collaboration across Global Technology Shared Services (InfoSec, Infrastructure, Production Support, etc.).
- Differentiate approaches for building self-service BI versus corporate BI solutions, including data source selection and ETL strategies.
- Enhance reporting efficiencies by standardizing practices and creating training programs for Power BI report designers, data modelers, and consumers.
- Act as a Power BI evangelist, staying updated on technological advances and guiding use cases for Power Solutions, including evaluating when alternatives are appropriate.
- Contribute to the Power Platform center of excellence by establishing governance for Power BI implementation.
- Assess adoption and satisfaction levels, working with product teams and UX specialists.
- Promote collaboration and innovation, serving as a change ambassador.
Qualifications and experience:
- Over 10 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with expertise in data analysis, modeling, and ETL processes.
- Proficiency in performance tuning and managing large data volumes.
- Strong understanding of enterprise big data architectures.
- Experience developing reporting and analytics solutions using Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Database, SSAS, Data Lakes, Data Factory, and Power Platform tools.
- Knowledge of Azure platform security models and the full Software Development Lifecycle, including Azure DevOps and Visual Studio (SSDT).
- Good command of English (C1 level) for working with international teams.
Nice to have:
- Experience in building reporting governance frameworks and driving organizational adoption.
- Familiarity with SAFe practices.
- Experience with data interfaces like APIs, Snowflake, and various file formats.
- Understanding of Data Quality practices such as shift-left approaches.
