Position: Senior Data Engineer
Working closely with one of our main clients in the financial sector, your main responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to understand needs and design optimal data solutions.
- Leading strategic prototyping workshops and collaborating across Global Technology Shared Services to implement solutions.
- Understanding and differentiating approaches for building self-service BI versus Corporate BI solutions, including data source selection and ETL approaches.
- Driving reporting efficiencies, streamlining practices, and providing training for Power BI report designers and consumers.
- Acting as a Power BI product evangelist, staying updated on technology trends, and contributing to the Power Platform centre of excellence.
- Assessing adoption and customer satisfaction in collaboration with product teams and UX specialists.
- Being a change ambassador, fostering collaboration and creative problem-solving.
Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with strong skills in data analysis, modelling, and ETL processes.
- Expertise in SQL, performance tuning, and handling large data volumes.
- Understanding of enterprise big data architectures and experience with Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Database, SSAS, Data Lakes, Data Warehouse, Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with Power Platform solutions (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI).
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, security model designs, and working in an international environment (C1 English level).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in building reporting governance frameworks and driving adoption.
- Experience with SAFe practices and data interfaces like APIs, Snowflake, databases, and various file formats.
- Understanding of Data Quality approaches.
Work Location & Schedule:
100% remote within Spain. Business hours, with no intensive Fridays or summer workdays.
