Hitachi Energy in Madrid is seeking an electromechanical design engineer to support project execution from design to delivery for offshore platforms, data centers, and high‑voltage substations across the region.

You will lead electromechanical substation work, produce technical docs, review specifications, and ensure 3D models align between civil and electrical disciplines. Travel about 10% is required. Fluent English is expected; BIM/3D experience is a plus.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Solid track record in electromechanical design of substations (AIS or GIS).
• Relevant High Voltage Apparatus experience and knowledge.
• BIM/3D methodology knowledge will be a plus.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to workplace safety guidelines, with motivation for new technologies.
• Collaborative and solutions-oriented approach with strong communication skills and knowledge of power systems.

• Produce technical documentation for tender development and design phases.
• Prepare and review technical specifications and validate equipment.

• Support claims related to scope changes, assessing cost and time impacts while maintaining client satisfaction.
• Share best practices and develop leadership and coordination within the team.

How you'll make an impact

• Lead and coordinate the primary (electromechanical) scope to ensure the integrity and the correct function operation of the substation systems.
• Produce technical documentation, supporting not only tender development but also early conceptual design, detail design and equipment implementation. suincluding conceptual design support and equipment implementation.
• Prepare and review technical specifications and validate equipment.
• Ensure alignment of the 3D design/models, coordinating and resolving interferences interfaces between civil and electromechanical disciplines.
• Make technical recommendations during design, engineering, and execution phases to meet process requirements and standards.
• Support the project team with claims related to changes in the primary scope, assessing cost, time impacts, and risks while maintaining customer satisfaction through continuous dialogue and excellent service.
• Collaborate with engineering colleaguesto share best practices and develop leadership, coordination, and communication skills, upholding our core values of safety, integrity, and quality.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Solid track record in electromechanical design of substations (AIS or GIS).

• Fluent in English. Any additional languages will be appreciated.

Willingness to travel: Required 10% of the time.
