Hitachi Energy is establishing an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid. The role focuses on power systems analysis, simulation studies, and client-facing reporting within a dynamic engineering team.

You will translate insights into customer-ready reports, engage with clients to shape their needs, and collaborate across disciplines in an international environment. Travel up to 10% is required.

Formación

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in power systems analysis.
• Knowledge of RTDS, PSCAD, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Matlab, EMTP-RV.
• Experience with tenders and cost estimation is a merit.
• Fluent in English.

Responsabilidades

At Hitachi Energy, we are establishing and developing an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid, Spain (ESOPC) within Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe (HBUEU). We are seeking highly qualified engineers in the fields of Power Electronics, Grid Integration, and Research and Development (R&D) to join us in this exciting opportunity

Step into a dynamic role where technical excellence meets strategic impact. As part of our engineering team, you'll lead simulation studies, translate insights into customer-ready reports, and engage directly with clients to understand and shape their needs. You'll collaborate across disciplines, contribute to cutting-edge R&D, and continuously expand your knowledge in today's evolving energy landscape.

How you'll make an impact

• Undertaking various simulation studies individually or as part of a team daily.

• Making reports out of studies and presenting to customers.

• Understanding customer needs by reading customer specifications and participating in customer meetings.

• Coordination and communication with all disciplines involved in project and tender deliveries, and in close connection to research and development activities.

• Having ambition in learning and sharing critical knowledge in today's power system.

• You will be in frequent contact with the other engineering disciplines, project managers, customers and other Hitachi Energy units in an international environment.

• You will work independently as well as in a team and to assume responsibility for given tasks is a key to success.

Your Background

• You hold an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar.

• You are experienced in power systems analysis.

• It is preferred that you know about these programs and tools: RTDS, PSCAD, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Matlab, EMTP-RV, etc.

• It is considered a merit if you have previous experience working on tenders and are familiar with activities such as cost estimation, coordination with sales, and understanding customer specifications.

• Since you will be working in an international environment, it is essential that you communicate fluently in English.

Willingness to travel: Required up to 10%.
