Job summary

Universidad Loyola seeks an Energy Storage Systems Engineer to join a globally distributed, remote-first team. You will design, develop, and deploy advanced ESS solutions, integrating with renewables and the grid from a home office.

The role requires expertise in battery technologies, power electronics, and system integration, with the ability to work autonomously with cross-functional teams across hardware, software, and project management.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer integrated energy storage systems (ESS), including battery management systems (BMS), inverters, and control systems.
• Conduct system modeling and simulation to optimize performance, efficiency, and lifespan of ESS.
• Develop technical specifications for ESS components and procurement packages.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers, in a remote setting.
• Define requirements for ESS integration with renewable energy sources (solar, wind) and grid infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to ESS performance and reliability.
• Stay abreast of emerging battery technologies, power electronics, and industry standards.
• Develop testing protocols and procedures for ESS validation and commissioning.
• Contribute to the development of intellectual property and technical documentation.
