Formación

  • 10+ años de experiencia en la industria solar PV.
  • Fuerte conocimiento práctico del desarrollo y operación de plantas solares.

RINA is currently recruiting for a Power Iberia Principal Consultant to join its office in Madrid within the Green Energy Solutions Division.

Mission

The Principal Consultant will deliver technical assessments with specific focus on, but not limited to, photovoltaic (PV) plants for various stakeholders in the renewables industry. You’ll provide technical consulting services to lenders, investors and owners throughout the development, procurement, construction and operations phases of PV projects. Typical core tasks will include technical due diligences as part of PV project financings or mergers & acquisitions, feasibility studies, tender management and construction monitoring.

The role supports the growth of independent engineering services in Spain and Portugal.

Key Accountabilities

Technical knowledge, development and research

  1. Assisting in RINA’s position as industry leading solar technical consultants through continuous technical knowledge building relating to solar PV modules and inverters.
  2. Contributing to the continued improvement of internal processes and research to maintain our industry leading position in the field.
  3. Help develop, test and deliver new solutions to our clients, and be ahead of industry best practice with a solution focused attitude.

Project Management and Quality Assurance

  1. Management of individual projects and portfolios ranging from kW to multi MW in size across Spain and our worldwide offices.
  2. Ensuring the delivery of solar resource related services is on time and budget, to a very high standard and ensuring client satisfaction.
  3. Playing a crucial role in the quality assurance of all work within the team, undertaking QA and checking of others work, reporting and deliverables.
  4. Help develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients and teams.
  5. Expected to use effective communication within the project team to support delivery of the project.
  6. Supporting business development through liaison with a wide range of customers from PV developers to financial institutions.
  7. Take part in scope discussions, proposal drafting and negotiations with key clients including International Finance Institutions, developers, and lenders.
  8. Build and maintain existing client relationships through delivery of high quality analyses, reports and discussions.
  9. Attend client meetings and present RINA’s approaches or results competently.

Leadership & Development

  1. Actively involved in leading, developing and mentoring junior team members.
  2. Following market trends, identifying prospects and managing the complete project lifecycle from proposal to delivery.

What are we looking for

  1. Degree in an engineering field.
  2. Experience in TDD is essential, preferably within a consultancy firm in Spain. Experience in OE services will be a plus.
  3. Strong practical knowledge, both technical and commercial, of how a PV plant is developed, constructed and operated. Experience in other technologies (i.e., WIND or BESS) will be a plus.
  4. Appreciation of the economics of solar energy development.
  5. 10+ years of experience in the solar PV industry.
  6. Fluency in English and Spanish. Other languages will be a plus (i.e., Portuguese or Italian).
  7. Ability to write concise reports and present to stakeholders.
  8. Experience with local regulations, grid connection and grid studies is advantageous.
  9. Good IT skills and excellent knowledge of MS Office package.
