Nextpower is seeking a power electronics hardware engineer to design, develop and optimize energy conversion systems in Valencia. You will define hardware architectures, schematics and component selections in collaboration with firmware, mechanical and quality teams.

You will perform electrical, thermal and reliability calculations, create documentation and support certification activities (IEC, UL, CE) throughout product development, ensuring safety, EMC and cost targets are met.

Formación

  • University degree in related engineering field is required or equivalent.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and proactive attitude are essential.

Responsabilidades

  • Design and develop power electronics hardware for energy conversion systems.
  • Define hardware architecture, schematics and component selections.
  • Design power stages, gate drivers, protection circuits and auxiliary supplies.
  • Perform electrical, thermal, magnetic and reliability calculations and simulations.
  • Prepare documentation including designs, test reports and BOMs.
  • Provide technical support during prototype builds and production.
  • Investigate hardware failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Support product certification to IEC, UL, CE and other standards.
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing and quality teams.

Educación

Job Mission

Design, develop and optimize power electronics hardware for high-performance energy conversion systems, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, thermal, EMC, reliability, and cost requirements throughout the entire product development lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design and develop power electronics hardware for energy conversion systems.
  • Define hardware architecture, schematics, and component selection based on technical and product requirements.
  • Design power stages, gate driver circuits, protection circuits, auxiliary power supplies, and control interfaces.
  • Perform electrical, thermal, magnetic, and reliability calculations and simulations to optimize hardware performance.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, calculations, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Provide technical support during prototype builds, pilot production, and product industrialization.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware failures through root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support product certification activities in accordance with IEC, UL, CE, and other applicable international standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality) to support product development.
Usual/Daily Job Functions
  • Design and develop power electronics hardware, including schematics, power stages, gate drivers, and auxiliary circuits.
  • Perform electrical, thermal, and magnetic calculations and simulations to optimize hardware performance and reliability.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, calculations, schematics and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Execute laboratory verification and troubleshooting, including functional, thermal, EMC, and reliability testing, and perform root cause analysis of hardware issues.
Periodic / Occasional Job Functions
  • Support to other departments.
  • Analysis and testing at customer facilities in cases of support to other departments, or for U-TI Design projects.
  • Support product certification and supplier activities, including technical reviews, component qualification, prototype builds, and compliance with IEC, UL, and CE standards.
Minimum Academic Qualifications

University degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Preferred profile: Industrial Engineer with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
