Nextpower seeks a Head of Engineering to lead the Electromechanical Engineering department, driving design, validation, and implementation of high‑power power converters, electric drive systems, and industrial power supplies. You will shape the technology roadmap and ensure cost, reliability, and performance goals are met.

The role requires a Master’s degree in engineering, 12+ years in industrial design, and fluency in Spanish and English, with 5+ years leading teams.

Formación

• Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, electromechanical or industrial engineering.
• Master’s degree or PhD in power electronics highly desirable.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
• At least 12 years of design and detailed engineering experience with 5+ years leading teams.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise electromechanical design reviews of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Oversee mechanical design and thermal management including 3D modelling and cooling simulations.
• Manage department budget, set KPIs, and lead the technical team.
• Approve manufacturing standards, work instructions, roadmaps, and technical change control.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance for installations.

Job Description: Head of Engineering, High-Power Electronics Manage the Electromechanical Engineering department with a focus on high-power electronics, leading the design, development, validation, and implementation of electronic power converters, electric drive systems, industrial power supplies, and energy conversion solutions, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, quality, reliability, and cost requirements.

Mission and Primary Objective

• Supervision of electromechanical design: Review and validate drawings for electrical systems (medium/high voltage) and mechanical systems (structures, pneumatics).
• Supervision of Mechanical Design and Thermal Management: Oversee 3D modelling of the chassis and the internal layout of the equipment (packaging), and lead simulations of forced-air or liquid cooling to ensure proper heat dissipation.
• Resource and Budget Management: Manage the department’s budget, set key performance indicators (KPIs), and lead the technical team under your supervision.
• Technical and Document Control: Approve manufacturing standards, work instructions, roadmaps, and technical change control.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all mechanical and electrical installations strictly comply with technical and occupational safety regulations.

Profile Requirements

• Education: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or an Industrial Engineering degree covering both specializations. A Master´s Degree or Ph.D. in power electronics is highly desirable.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken, is required.
• Experience: At least 12 years of experience in the design and detailed engineering of industrial mechanical and electrical projects, with at least 5 years leading work teams.

Technical Skills

• Mechanical and thermal design software (SolidWorks, ANSYS Fluent, Inventor).
• Electrical design tools (EPLAN).

Soft Skills

• Critical analytical thinking, rigor in product development methodologies, leadership of specialist engineers, and a focus on technical excellence.
