Offer Description

The University of Barcelona recruits a project manager for Marie Skłodowska Curie Action (MSCA) Doctoral Network project GREENS, funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe program. We are looking for a highly organized and proactive project manager to oversee the administrative, financial, and communication aspects, ideally with previous experience in DN projects. The role involves ensuring full compliance with MSCA program requirements, acting as a central point of contact for all stakeholders (including the European Commission, partner institutions, and students), and coordinating contracts, agreements, and amendments in coordination with the UB International Research Projects Office (OPIR) . The project manager will be responsible for financial monitoring of the project, supporting reporting duties, and overseeing internal and external communications. There will be an special focus on managing the project’s website and social media, as well as organizing and promoting events such as related training schools and conferences.

Gross salary per year : 20.000,04 €

The application period is from 5 to 27 June 2025.

Professional experience in the field of coordination or management of international and European projects (internships included) of 3 years is welcome. Knowledge of the collaborative projects of the European Union Research Framework Program would be greatly appreciated, specially if it has been in Doctoral Networks.

Specific Requirements

The main activities that the applicant will develop in the project are focused on the management of the administrative, financial and logistical aspects of the project, more specifically,

  • Ensure compliance with MSCA program rules;
  • To act as a single desk for the actors involved (European Commission, partners, associate partners, students and candidates, external institutions) : answering questions, providing regular information and ensuring the effectiveness of the external communication system;
  • Jointly drafting and ensuring compliance with contracts and amendments (in agreement with the relevant services of the GREENS) signed with partners (consortium agreement), associated partners (bilateral agreements), the European Commission (framework agreement, grant agreement), students and other potential partners;
  • Set up and follow various administrative and financial procedures, in cooperation with the UB International Research Projects Office (OPIR) regarding doctoral contracts, organization of training and events, payments to partner universities, monitoring the consortium’s budget (of EUR 4 million over 4 years), monitoring of the GREENS’s own budget.
  • Reporting to the European Commission (progress report and annual activity and financial reports);
  • Coordinate internal and external communication strategies among consortium members and stakeholders, as well as establishing common exchange and dissemination tools (e.g., newsletters).
  • Manage and update the project website, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with project milestones, as well as maintain GREENS' presence on social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky), regularly publishing updates and highlights.
  • Support the organization and promotion of GREENS project events such as training schools and conferences.

Duration of the contract of employment : This contract will initially be for a duration of 12 months, renewable ends as of the project completion date 01 / 31 / 2029, subject to the existence of financial endowment.
