This project, in collaboration with the University of Antwerp and the University of Michigan, focuses on the tailored formation of handshake complexes with chirality-directed recognition between chiral nanoparticles and proteins or protein assemblies. The postdoctoral research will involve experimental investigation and theoretical modeling of chiral nanoparticle growth directed by chiral ligands.
The successful candidate will conduct systematic studies on the growth mechanisms of chiral metal nanoparticles, using gold nanoparticle cores with various morphologies and chiral ligands. The role includes theoretical modeling, including density functional theory (DFT) and potentially molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The work will be supported by consortium members, and research stays at collaborators' labs are likely to be required.
