IREC is seeking a PostDoc Researcher for the SCAPE project to engage in innovative research within Power Electronics. The role involves designing advanced power converters, developing control schemes, and conducting experiments in IREC’s lab facilities. Ideal candidates will have a strong academic background and hands-on experience in the field.

Formación

  • PhD or Master in disciplines related to Power Electronics.
  • Over 4 years of research experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of multilevel power converter topologies favored.

Responsabilidades

  • Design advanced power converter topologies and control schemes.
  • Develop advanced electro-thermal models for power converter digital twins.
  • Conduct experimental activities with power converters.

Descripción del empleo

The Power Systems Group announces the opening of a position as PostDoc Researcher to work on the SCAPE project funded under the HORIZON EUROPE programme, as well as on similar technical research projects in the fields of Power Electronics. The tasks to be carried out will be focused on designing advanced power converter topologies and control schemes, together with the development of advanced electro-thermal models for the implementation of power converter digital twins. Additionally, experimental activities with power converters are expected, including the design and implementation of experimental setups within IREC’s lab facilities.

Qualifications and experience required :

  • PhD in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Automatic Control, or similar, or a Master (or equivalent) in the same disciplines with more than 4 years of research experience related to Power Electronics.
  • Experience in the design, modelling, and operation of power electronics converters.
  • Experience with control board design and programming.
  • Experience in analog and digital electronic systems design, simulation, and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with power electronics is essential.

Preferred :

  • Knowledge of multilevel power converter topologies and operation.
  • Experience in communications and automation systems.
  • Experience supervising, guiding, and training team members.
  • Experience in preparing competitive project proposals.
  • Experience writing papers for technical journals and conferences.

Offer :

We offer a R2 position for 14 months within the SCAPE European project. Salaries will be paid according to IREC’s salary policy, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
