Offer Description

The hired postdoc will be part of an international team of paleontologists and botanists working in the project “Estudio de la vegetación cretácica europea para comprender su respuesta a cambios climáticos globales”. The specific tasks will include the identification and study of Early Cretaceous plant fossil associations to aid in the vegetation reconstruction and interpretation of European fossil sites; stomatal density calculations of fossil plants; and statistical analyses including climatic variables and plant fossil traits (e.g. based on CLAMP).

Doctorate in Biology, Geology or related area (focusing on a palaeobotany, botany or paleaeontology topic), scientific publications and international research internships.

Knowledge on fossil plant identification, taphonomy, and general statistics.

Previous work on Cretaceous palaeobotany preferred.

Additional Information

The hired postdoc will be part of a funded project with funding for conferences and traveling to obtain data
