Job summary

ICN2 in Bellaterra is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Thermal Properties of Nanoscale Materials. The role focuses on vapor-deposited molecular glasses under the GLASSPIKE ERC Advanced Grant, combining thin-film growth, AFM/KPFM, and electrical characterization.

The position is full-time (37.5h/week), 36 months, relocation support and life insurance provided. Incorporation date targeted for 01/02/2027; salary depends on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Materials Science, nanoscience, or related field.
• Publications show KPFM, polarization, and molecular materials experience.
• Hands-on AFM/KPFM and electrical characterization required.

Responsibilities

• Grow and optimize vapor-deposited molecular-glass thin films.
• Characterize molecular orientation, polarization, and surface potential.
• Develop quantitative KPFM methods for polar films.
• Investigate voltage-driven polarization and depolarization.
• Generate programmable polarization states and analyze results.
• Correlate KPFM with depolarization measurements; publish findings.
• Support relocation and integration within GTNaM team.
