Job summary

ICN2, a flagship nanoscience research center in Barcelona, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Atomic Manipulation and Spectroscopy group.

The project focuses on on-surface synthesized nanoporous graphene and heterostructures, with responsibilities including fabrication of NPG-based FET devices, transfer to gate dielectrics, and supervision of early-stage researchers. English is required for collaboration and reporting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Transfer of nanoporous graphene from growth substrate to gate dielectrics.
• Fabrication of nanoporous graphene–based FET devices.
• Fabrication of heterostructures based on nanoporous graphene and other 2D semiconductors.
• Raman/PL and transport measurements; manage the device subunit.
• Supervision of early stage researchers.

Job Title: Postdoctoral Researcher

Department: Atomic Manipulation and Spectroscopy

Description of Group/Project:

The objective of the project is to explore sensing and optoelectronic functionalities of on-surface synthesized nanoporous graphene (NPG) and heterostructures based on this nanomaterial by integrating them in field-effect transistor (FET) devices.

Main Tasks and responsibilities:

Transfer of NPG from the metallic growth substrate to gate dielectrics. Fabrication of NPG-based FET devices. Fabrication of heterostructures based on NPG and other 2D semiconductors to explore proximity effects. Micro Raman/PL and transport measurements. Management of the device subunit of the group. Supervision of early stage researchers.

Requirements:

• Education: PhD level background in physics, chemistry, nanoscience or engineering


• Knowledge: Background in 2D materials, device fabrication, materials science at the nanoscale condensed matter, physics.

Summary of conditions:
