What we are looking for

The Faculty of Economic and Social Science is looking for a Post-doctoral Assistant Lecturer to teach and carry out research in the area of accounting and finance. The successful applicant is expected to contribute to the teaching and development of our existing accounting and financial management modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The Faculty’s teaching portfolio includes a range of bachelor’s degrees in business and management. The successful applicant is also expected to engage in individual and collaborative research activities resulting in high-quality and internationally-rated outputs in accounting and finance journals.

Requirements

Candidates must have:

• A PhD (or near completion) in a field related to the position (accounting, finance or economics)
• At least one (preferably two) years teaching experience
• Evidence of positive results in terms of student satisfaction
• Fluency in English
• Evidence of having published (or the ability to publish) articles in high-quality and internationally rated peer-reviewed journals

The following aspects of the candidate’s CV will be assessed:

• Proven record of effective teaching
• Excellent presentation skills
• Proficiency in oral and written English
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team in both teaching and research activities
• The ability to supervise and guide bachelor’s and master’s degree students in their research projects
