About the role:

A leadership position responsible for delivering complex technological transformation initiatives in the payments industry while optimizing portfolio value through effective resource allocation and investment prioritization. The role combines portfolio management according to MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) principles with project delivery following PMI standards and Agile frameworks.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead complex Payretailers IT projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, ensuring alignment with business strategy and regulatory requirements. Collaborate closely with domain leads and other teach and business stakeholders.
  • Implement flexible governance framework that bridges Agile and Waterfall approaches, standardizing delivery while maintaining agility and compliance.
  • Manage project dependencies between Agile and Waterfall teams, synchronizing sprint cycles with waterfall phases and key milestones to ensure seamless integration.
  • Establish portfolio governance and direct portfolio balancing and optimization to maximize delivery of business value and ensure predictability.
  • Develop portfolio metrics and executive dashboards that effectively communicate progress, including ROI, risk exposure, and resource utilization.
  • Capacity planning, optimizing specialized skill utilization while maintaining project momentum and delivery quality.
  • Lead stakeholder management across business units, partners, and technology teams. Communicate effectively in English and Spanish to ensure clear and concise collaboration with stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Manage portfolio budgets using both fixed Waterfall project funding and variable Agile capacity funding models.
  • Drive continuous improvement, identifying lessons learned and related actions for each endeavour, with a relentless focus on efficiency and delivery of business value
  • Guide teams through methodology transitions, mentoring project managers in effective hybrid practices and fostering knowledge sharing across product and technology.
  • Lead M&A technology integration programmes and platform consolidation initiatives
  • Engages with Domain Leads and other key stakeholders both in IT and the business, manages matrix teams across geographies, drives organisational change management using best practice e.g. Prosci.

About you:

  • +5 Years of experience managing complex IT projects (involving SW Delivery), handling multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficient in project and portfolio management methodologies and with deep expertise in planning, stakeholder management and communication.
  • Experience with project management tools, JIRA Software – Atlassian package being the preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with global, multicultural teams, across different timezones.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (C1 level or higher) a must.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
