A leading metals producer is seeking a port manager to join their team in Northwest Spain. The role requires overseeing all port operations and ensuring safety and compliance with maritime regulations. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience, strong maritime knowledge, and the capability to lead effectively in a dynamic environment.

Formación

  • 5+ years of strong knowledge in shipping and maritime law.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English required.
  • Minimum of a Technical Engineer / Graduate.

port manager

to join the team in

Northwest Spain

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

Organize, control, and manage the company’s port in coordination with port authorities and administrative bodies. Oversee maritime operations, including scheduling, safety, and environmental compliance. Develop and enforce regulations, emergency plans, and safety protocols for the port. Manage port services (e.g., pilotage, moorings, tugs) and ensure proper resource allocation and safety. Promote staff training and monitor the continuous improvement of environmental management and safety.

Key Qualifications / Experience

5+ years of strong knowledge of shipping, maritime law, regulations, tugboats, cargo handling, and stowage. Strong understanding of international regulations, maritime administration, safety measures, firefighting protocols, and environmental laws. Minimum of a Technical Engineer / Graduate, Senior Engineer / Graduate preferred. Fluency in Spanish and English is a requirement. Located or willing to relocate to Northwest Spain.
