JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Observability Engineer experienced with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm, and with deep knowledge of Observability features (logging, metrics, tracing, APM, etc.), preferably in hybrid high-volume distributed platforms processing thousands of transactions per second.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience with open-source components such as Telegraf, Prometheus, Grafana, FluentBit, Logstash, OpenSearch / Elasticsearch, Kibana, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, or similar technologies.

Our Observability Platform components are deployed on Kubernetes and/or AWS EC2 instances, requiring support and rollout for internal teams and customers. The role also involves governance, best practices, and automation of ad-hoc features.

The successful candidate will be part of a talented, motivated IT team focused on implementing solutions that meet our product requirements and address technological challenges continuously.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement solutions aligned with product requirements and technological challenges.
  • Ensure performance through design, right-sizing, scalability, and reliability.
  • Follow the Definition of Done at the technical level.
  • Analyze technical trade-offs and determine primary components and subsystems.
  • Identify weaknesses and failure points in Observability solutions and suggest improvements.
  • Support teams during significant technological challenges.
  • Lead the definition of technical and functional monitoring standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation.
  • Participate in the company’s Communities of Practice.
  • Advocate for new observability-related technological features.
  • Serve as a technological reference and evangelist.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience as an Observability Engineer or similar role, supporting monitoring, logging, tracing, and APM challenges.
  • Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Telegraf, Prometheus, Grafana, FluentBit, Logstash, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Kibana, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger.
  • Experience working in cloud environments, especially AWS.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code frameworks like Terraform and Helm.
  • Experience with container-native applications deployed via Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Linux systems administration skills.
  • Experience in distributed system environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of Python or Go is a plus.
  • Strong technical, logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
