JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a skilled Observability Engineer with experience working with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm, with deep knowledge of Observability features (logging, metrics, tracing, APM, …) ideally in hybrid high-volume distributed platforms with thousands of transactions per second. The candidate should have proven experience working with de-facto market-standard open-source components including Telegraf, Prometheus, Grafana, FluentBit, Logstash, OpenSearch/ElasticSearch, Kibana, OpenTelemetry, Jaegger, or similar. Our Observability Platform components are deployed on Kubernetes and/or AWS EC2 instances, requiring support and rollout for all teams/internal customers. The role involves governance, best practices, and automation of features. The successful candidate will join a talented team of IT professionals focusing on implementing solutions for our product requirements and technology challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement solutions to meet product requirements and technological challenges.
  • Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability by design.
  • Follow the Definition of Done at the technical level.
  • Analyze technical trade-offs and determine primary components and subsystems.
  • Identify weaknesses and failure points in Observability solutions and propose improvements.
  • Support teams during significant technological challenges.
  • Lead the definition of technical and functional monitoring.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation.
  • Participate in the company's Communities of Practice.
  • Advocate for new Observability-related technological features and serve as a technological evangelist.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience as an Observability Engineer or similar role supporting monitoring, logging, tracing, and APM challenges.
  • Experience with open-source Observability solutions such as Telegraf, Prometheus, Grafana, FluentBit, Logstash, OpenSearch/ElasticSearch, Kibana, OpenTelemetry, Jaegger.
  • Experience working in cloud environments like AWS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code frameworks like Terraform and Helm.
  • Experience with container-native applications deployed in Docker & Kubernetes.
  • Linux systems administration experience.
  • Experience working in distributed systems environments.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of Python or Go is a plus.
  • Strong technical, logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
