JR Spain is seeking an Observability Engineer to join their team in Palma de Mallorca. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing solutions, ensuring system performance, and advocating for Observability features within the team. Candidates should possess extensive experience with Observability tools and AWS, have strong analytical skills, and be proficient in either Python or Go.

Formación

• Experience as an Observability Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency with Observability tools like Telegraf, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
• Experience with AWS cloud environment.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Terraform and Helm.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Observability Engineer with experience working with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Helm, with deep knowledge of Observability features (logging, metrics, tracing, APM, …) ideally in hybrid high-volume distributed platforms with thousands of transactions per second.

The candidate should have proven experience with open-source components such as Telegraf, Prometheus, Grafana, FluentBit, Logstash, OpenSearch/ElasticSearch, Kibana, OpenTelemetry, Jaegger, or similar.

Our Observability Platform components are deployed on Kubernetes and/or AWS EC2 instances. The role involves support, rollout, governance, and automation for teams and internal customers. The successful candidate will be part of a talented team focusing on implementing solutions for our product requirements and technology challenges.

Responsibilities

• Implement solutions to meet product requirements and technology challenges.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability by design.
• Follow the Definition of Done at the technical level.
• Analyze technical trade-offs and determine primary components and subsystems.
• Detect weaknesses and failure points within Observability solutions and propose improvements.
• Support teams during technological challenges.
• Lead the definition of technical and functional monitoring.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation.
• Collaborate in Communities of Practice.
• Advocate for new Observability features and act as a technological evangelist.

Required Skills

• Experience as an Observability Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency with Observability tools like Telegraf, Prometheus, Grafana, FluentBit, Logstash, OpenSearch/ElasticSearch, Kibana, OpenTelemetry, Jaegger.
• Experience with AWS cloud environment.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Terraform and Helm.
• Experience with container-native applications in Docker & Kubernetes.
• Linux systems administration skills.
• Experience in Distributed Systems and Agile methodologies.
• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of Python or Go is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
