Una empresa innovadora busca un Ingeniero de Plataforma para unirse a un emocionante proyecto de telecomunicaciones satelitales. Este rol implica el diseño y desarrollo de subsistemas de plataformas basadas en tecnología satelital, así como la preparación de propuestas y la participación en revisiones de diseño y pruebas. Se requiere un sólido conocimiento en arquitecturas de sistemas satelitales geostacionarios y LEO, junto con habilidades en programación y gestión de proyectos. Formación

  • 10+ años de experiencia en posiciones similares con experiencia práctica en operaciones de plataformas.
  • Conocimiento en diseño, fabricación, integración y pruebas de equipos de satélites.

Responsabilidades

  • Preparación y participación en reuniones de revisión de diseño y pruebas de unidades de plataforma.
  • Soporte a la evaluación del estado de salud del satélite en órbita y coordinación de investigaciones de anomalías.

Descripción del empleo

Hispasat, as part of the SpaceRISE consortium, is responsible for the technical implementation and ensuring the success of the IRIS² project, leveraging its extensive experience in satellite communications. This collaboration is essential to provide secure and reliable high-performance communication solutions to the European Union and its member states.

To be part of this project, we are looking for a Platform Engineer whose responsibilities will be as follows:

Activities:

  1. Support to the definition, design, development and oversight of a telecommunications satellite constellation program in the area of Satellite Platform Engineering.
  2. Support to the definition, design and development of platform subsystems based on satellite technology.

Responsibilities:

  1. Preparation of the Satellite and Launch Services Request for Proposal (RFP) and the associated technical evaluation.
  2. Preparation and participation in all platform unit design, manufacturing and testing review meetings.
  3. Preparation and participation in all platform subsystem design, manufacturing and testing review meetings.
  4. Preparation and participation in all system design, manufacturing and testing review meetings.
  5. Preparation and participation in the launch campaign.
  6. Preparation and participation in the LEOP.
  7. Preparation and participation in the In Orbit Test Campaign.
  8. Support to the on-orbit satellite health status assessment and coordination of anomaly investigation.
  9. Preparation of weekly reports of activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar.
  2. 10-year experience on a similar position with hands-on experience or exposure in either platform procurement, platform equipment manufacturing or platform in-orbit operations in GEO and/or LEO.
  3. Experience in managing large EU and ESA projects.
  4. Programming languages skills (Python, Matlab or similar).

Knowledge in geostationary and LEO satellite system architectures and functional operations, covering several of the following aspects:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge in the area of platform equipment design, manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing at unit, subsystem and satellite levels.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of satellite system related activities (e.g.: system budgets, radiation, EMC & ESD).
  3. Demonstrated skills in the area of Satellite manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing at system level.
  4. Demonstrated skills in the area of Satellite LEOP operations.
  5. Demonstrated skills in the area of Satellite Platform In Orbit Testing.

Recommendable:

  1. Highly collaborative individual, able to build relationships internally and externally across all levels and functions.
  2. Capacity to deal with complex situations with assertiveness.
  3. Native to an EU member state and willing to undergo an EU secret clearance process.
  4. Fluency in English, both written and spoken; any other European language is considered an asset.

Location:

  1. Madrid / Toulouse;
  2. Platform and/or Payload Manufacturer facilities, resident as required;
  3. Platform and/or Payload Unit manufacturer facilities, as required;
  4. ESTEC, as required;
  5. European Commission, as required;
  6. Launch Base, as required;
  7. Satellite IOT station, as required.

Be able to provide 24/7 on-call support during satellite system and Payload/Platform testing.
