Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a Planning Lead for a global AI infrastructure project in Spain, based in Badajoz. You will own the Integrated Master Schedule, coordinate multiple contractor programs, monitor progress, and translate milestones into CAPEX and cash flow forecasts.

The role collaborates with Construction, Procurement, Cost Control, Finance, and Commissioning, ensuring robust scheduling and risk management from design through handover.

Formación

  • Strong planning and controls in complex, multi-contractor construction environments.
  • Advanced Primavera P6 experience with integrated schedules, baselines, progress updates, forecasting.
  • Understanding of CAPEX-intensive projects and the relationship between programme, procurement, progress, cost forecasts and cash flow.
  • Experience integrating long-lead equipment, construction, energisation, commissioning and handover activities.
  • Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) covering design, procurement, construction, utilities, energisation, commissioning and handover.
  • Integrate and challenge contractor and vendor schedules across multiple disciplines and packages.
  • Monitor physical progress against baseline and ensure consistent progress measurement across contractors.
  • Perform critical path, schedule variance and delay analysis, identifying constraints and risks.
  • Develop mitigation plans with stakeholders and recovery actions where progress deviates.
  • Coordinate short- and mid-term planning, including look-ahead schedules and interfaces.
  • Translate schedules into reliable CAPEX phasing and cash flow forecasts.
  • Provide schedule-driven inputs to Cost Control and Finance for CAPEX timing.
  • Integrate procurement and long-lead equipment activities through handover.
  • Prepare progress reporting covering milestones, baseline performance and forecast completion.
  • Drive consistent planning and forecasting standards across the project.

Join a leading global AI infrastructure company, a vertically integrated AI Cloud provider delivering large-scale data centers and GPU clusters for AI training and inference, currently expanding its next-generation, renewable-powered data center portfolio across Spain.

The organization is currently on the lookout for a Planning Lead to own project planning and scheduling across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. The ideal candidate will own the Integrated Master Schedule, coordinate multiple contractor programs, monitor physical progress, and identify critical-path risks, while also translating program milestones and procurement activity into reliable investment phasing and cash flow forecasts. Based in Badajoz, the role works closely with Construction, Project Management, Procurement, Cost Control, Finance, and Commissioning teams.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) covering design, procurement, construction, utilities, energisation, commissioning and handover.
  • Integrate and challenge contractor and vendor schedules across CSA, Electrical, Mechanical, BMS, Security, Power Infrastructure, utilities and other project packages.
  • Monitor physical progress against the approved baseline and ensure consistent progress measurement across contractors and work packages.
  • Perform critical path, schedule variance and delay analysis, identifying constraints, dependencies, milestone risks and potential impacts on completion dates.
  • Develop mitigation and recovery plans with Construction, Project Management and contractors where progress deviates from approved milestones.
  • Coordinate short- and medium-term construction planning, including look-ahead schedules, sequencing, interfaces and upcoming constraints.
  • Translate construction schedules, procurement milestones, equipment deliveries and physical progress into reliable CAPEX phasing assumptions.
  • Provide schedule-driven inputs to Cost Control and Finance for CAPEX and cash flow forecasting, highlighting changes in project timing that could affect expenditure.
  • Integrate procurement and long-lead equipment activities, including engineering, manufacturing, FAT, logistics, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning.
  • Integrate energisation, commissioning and handover milestones into the overall project programme, maintaining visibility of dependencies affecting data center readiness.
  • Support change management and schedule impact assessments relating to scope changes, variations, delays, procurement issues and other project events.
  • Prepare programme and progress reporting covering milestones, critical path, baseline performance, forecast completion, risks, constraints, recovery actions and CAPEX timing.
  • Drive consistent planning, progress measurement, forecasting and reporting standards across the project.
Skills/Must have
  • Strong project planning and project controls background within complex, multi-contractor construction environments.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Primavera P6, including integrated schedules, baselines, progress updates, critical path analysis and forecasting.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, physical progress measurement, schedule variance, delay analysis and recovery planning.
  • Experience managing and integrating contractor and subcontractor programmes into an Integrated Master Schedule.
  • Strong understanding of CAPEX-intensive projects and the relationship between programme, procurement, physical progress, cost forecasts and cash flow.
  • Experience integrating long-lead equipment, construction, energisation, commissioning and handover activities.
  • Good understanding of major electrical and mechanical systems, utilities and mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI or other project controls tools would be advantageous.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Cost Control, Finance, Commissioning, contractors and vendors.
  • Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Structured, analytical and proactive approach, with strong problem-solving and influencing capabilities.
