The Role: InsureTech is looking for a Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer to provide programming leadership and support for application systems development and maintenance projects. In this role, you will provide strategic tools to all levels of Charles Taylor business and clients to enable efficient and accurate job performance. You will recommend, develop, and implement technology solutions to support our 100% Customer Satisfaction mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate and role model the Charles Taylor six Values by ensuring a Supportive Environment, upholding Excellence in People, focusing on Partnership with Clients, delivering High quality Work, promoting Group-wide Entrepreneurship, and having an Appetite for Change.
  • Responsible for high-level technical specifications and detailed program specifications for Data Migration.
  • Develop database scripts in adherence with Data Migration standards and best practices.
  • Build and maintain PL/SQL scripts.
  • Create and execute unit test cases for database scripts.
  • Ensure coding standards and programming techniques are followed through technical reviews.
  • Support and guide junior developers.
  • Assist in defining user requirements and developing functional specifications.
  • Design systems related to functionality, architecture, and databases for complex information systems.
  • Provide expertise on systems development, including databases, application architecture, and Oracle technologies.
  • Estimate programming and design tasks and contribute to project planning.
  • Monitor and implement technology upgrades, corrections, and new releases, ensuring optimal versions are used.
  • Communicate new features and training opportunities to users for effective application use.
Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in software engineering, preferably in enterprise applications, using TDD.
  • 5+ years of experience with PL/SQL and SQL in Oracle 11g/12c.
  • Experience developing packages, triggers, procedures, and materialized views.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS concepts and database design in Oracle 11g/12c.
  • Ability to review and tune SQL and PL/SQL code for performance.
  • Understanding of Unix or Windows scripting.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Oracle certification preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
  • Insurance industry knowledge.
  • Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
