Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer at RoleInsureTech

The RoleInsureTech team is seeking a Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer to lead and support application systems development and maintenance projects. This role involves providing strategic tools to Charles Taylor's business and clients to enhance efficiency and accuracy, with a focus on supporting our mission of 100% Customer Satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and embody the Charles Taylor six Values by fostering a supportive environment, upholding excellence, focusing on client partnership, delivering high-quality work, promoting entrepreneurship, and embracing change.
• Develop high-level and detailed technical specifications for Data Migration projects.
• Create and maintain database PL/SQL scripts adhering to standards and best practices.
• Develop unit test cases and perform testing of database scripts.
• Ensure coding standards and techniques are followed through technical reviews.
• Support and mentor junior developers.
• Assist in defining user requirements and developing functional specifications.
• Design systems architecture related to functionality, architecture, and databases for complex information systems.
• Provide expertise in systems development, including databases, application architecture, and Oracle technologies.
• Estimate programming and design tasks and contribute to project planning.
• Monitor technology updates and ensure the installation of appropriate versions.
• Communicate new features and training to users for effective application use.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Proven experience in software engineering, preferably in enterprise applications, using TDD.
• Over 5 years of experience with PL/SQL and SQL in Oracle 11g/12c environments.
• Experience with packages, triggers, procedures, and materialized views.
• Knowledge of RDBMS concepts and database design in Oracle.
• Ability to review and optimize SQL and PL/SQL code for performance.
• Understanding of Unix or Windows scripting.
• Experience in Agile development.
• Oracle certification is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills

• Insurance industry knowledge.
• Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
