Formación

  • Experience in High Energy Physics, Particle Accelerators, or Medical Physics is a strong asset.
  • Willingness to travel extensively during training.
  • Flexibility to work in rotating shifts, including nights and weekends (up to 50%).

IBA, the global leader in proton therapy, is partnering with the Spanish Ministry of Health to install ten state-of-the-art proton therapy systems across Spain in the coming 4 years, with support from the Amancio Ortega Foundation. We're seeking talented technical professionals for permanent contracts, grouped into teams responsible for installing at least two proton therapy units at different locations, including Santiago de Compostela, San Sebastian, Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Madrid (La Paz and Fuenlabrada), Valencia, and Gran Canaria.

Mission

You play a key role in our mission to treat cancer patients. As a Beam Physics Service Engineer, you are responsible for beam calibration, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities on the Proton Therapy site. You may be responsible for 2 or 3 installations, with each project scheduled for approximately 30 months. A training period is planned before the first installation, expected to be completed within 12 months at Fuenlabrada, starting December 2025. The start date may be adjusted as needed. Our HR team will support your relocation to subsequent locations.

  • Performing beam-related equipment calibration following procedures
  • Operating the system to match beam requirements, understanding software / hardware architecture

  • Analyzing data to diagnose technical issues
  • Testing and validating equipment to meet specifications and customer requirements
  • Managing beam-related commissioning activities like Pencil Beam Scanning (PBS)
