ABOUT CRAG :

CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. It is a consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). Located at the UAB Campus, CRAG hosts approximately 200 members from around the world.

The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is seeking a PhD Student to join the Computational and Synthetic Biology group.

The candidate will be responsible for :

  • Culturing and genetically engineering microalgae
  • Cloning genes and conducting luciferase activity tests

These tasks are part of the BioLumCity project.

Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Food Biotechnology, or Biotechnology

Specific Requirements :

  • Knowledge in plant molecular biology
  • Experience in microalgae transformation, promoter engineering, and microalgae culture is essential.
