Offer Description
Project Overview : The project is focused on theoretically studying quantum properties of ferromagnets. In particular, the candidate will develop a theory of quantum transport in ferromagnetic insulators, with the aim of developing quantum communication methods using magnets.
Tasks and Skills : The specific tasks will be tailored according to the candidate’s skills and interests, and will include analytical calculations or numerical simulations or a combination of both. The analytical calculations will involve quantum systems with infinite Hilbert spaces. These require a strong background in linear algebra and multivariable calculus.
The numerical simulations will involve efficient simulations of dynamics in large Hilbert spaces. These require an understanding of data structures, and programming concepts beyond simple loops and functions. In any case, a strong foundation in quantum mechanics and solid state physics is a must.
Experience in topics related to ‘quantum computing’, ‘quantum transport of electrons’, or ‘spintronics’ will be considered an advantage. Finally, the candidate will be required to present their research findings through scientific papers and presentations. Fluency in English is mandatory, and good communication skills will be valued. The candidate is expected to improve their communication capabilities over the course of their PhD.
What we offer : I will provide regular supervision and guidance on all scientific matters. The PhD candidate will have opportunities to attend national and international conferences to expand their knowledge and develop a scientific network. Essential research resources will be provided, including an office space and a laptop. Additionally, I will mentor the PhD candidate with their future professional paths, whether in academic research or otherwise.
Deadline for applications : September 8, 2025. Send CV, a letter of motivation and the records transcript to
