The Hospital del Mar Research Institute in Barcelona is inviting applications for a 4-year predoctoral PhD position to study human neural circuits using surgical brain tissue. The selected candidate will apply advanced imaging or patch-clamp electrophysiology directly to surgically resected human brain tissue, with a focus on how circuits function and how they are altered in epilepsy.

Formación

• Master's degree in Neuroscience, Biochemistry, or equivalent.
• Prior experience in molecular or cellular biology.
• Excellent English language skills.
• Prior experience with image analysis or patch-clamp electrophysiology is highly valued.

Responsabilidades

• Investigate properties of human neural circuits using surgical brain tissue.
• Apply imaging or patch-clamp techniques to resected tissue and relate findings to epilepsy.
