The SpinOrbitronics Group at IMDEA Nanociencia (Madrid, Spain) are seeking for candidates for one PhD position in the field of 2D materials for spin orbit electronics.
The PhD is founded by Mag4TIC-CM (TC2024 / TEC380) program by Community of Madrid under the coordination of IMDEA Nanociencia and involves a consortium comprising CISC, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
The candidates must have a Master degree in Physics or Material Science and good knowledge on Condensed Matter Physics and Magnetism. Previous expertise and skills on thin film fabrication in UHV conditions, spin transport and magnetic characterizations, are mandatory.
The PhD work will include the following aspects :
The PhD will be enrolled in one Doctoral Program of Universidad Autonoma de Madrid or Universidad Complutense de Madrid and supervised by Paolo Perna.
The student will participate in all activities of the groups, including synchrotron experiments, short and / or midterm stays at partner’s institutions, group and consortium meetings, workshops and furthermore will have the possibility to attend to numerous seminars and courses provided by IMDEA Nanociencia and by the other partners of the Consortium. The student will be evaluated at the end of the first year by a scientific committee to ensure the quality and progress of the research.
Interested candidate must have excellent academical records, must be highly motived, hard worker, and must demonstrate commitment to collaborative research. Along with a 2-Pages CV and a motivation letter, the applicants must provide at least two recommendation letters.
