The Structural and Molecular Glycobiology Group at BIFI–University of Zaragoza invites applications for a predoctoral PhD position associated with the project Engineering writers, erasers and readers of O-glycans to therapeutically intervene in the mucin O-glycan code.

The project combines glycobiology, structural biology, enzymology, biophysics, chemical biology and computational approaches to investigate.

Formación

• Degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biomedicine or related field.
• Excellent academic record.
• Interest in interdisciplinary, international research.
• Good command of scientific English.

The Structural and Molecular Glycobiology Group at BIFI–University of Zaragoza, led by Dr Ramón Hurtado-Guerrero, is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a predoctoral position associated with the project:
„Engineering writers, erasers and readers of O-glycans to therapeutically intervene in the mucin O-glycan code”

The project combines glycobiology, structural biology, enzymology, biophysics, chemical biology and computational approaches to investigate:

• Human and microbial glycosyltransferases.
• Tumour-associated Tn and STn glycans.
• Antibodies, nanobodies and immunotherapeutic strategies.
• X-ray crystallography, cryo-EM, NMR, AFM and molecular modelling.

Candidate profile

• Degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biomedicine or a related discipline.
• Excellent academic record.
• Strong motivation to undertake a PhD in an interdisciplinary and international research environment.
• Interest in glycobiology, structural biology, enzymology or biomedical research.
• Good command of scientific English.
