Job summary

Universidad de Sevilla is seeking a PhD MSCA COFUND BEST fellow to develop an autonomous collision avoidance guidance system for satellites, blending optimal control with learning-based methods. The project will feature international collaboration with Université de Toulouse and research stays at the University of Seville.

Starting September 2027, the fellowship supports mobility and a highly interdisciplinary environment focusing on aerospace engineering and control theory.

Qualifications

• MSc in Aerospace/Space Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of astrodynamics, machine learning, optimization and scientific computing.
• Proficient English (C1) to support international collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop autonomous collision avoidance guidance for satellites.
• Combine Pontryagin principle with learning-based approaches (PoNNs) for MPC control.
• Coordinate across Toulouse and Seville with planned research stays at the University of Seville.
