Fundación IMDEA Nanociencia in Madrid, Spain, invites applications for a fully funded four-year PhD position within the Ultrafast Science of Quantum Materials group. The project will examine nanoscale structure and dynamics in quantum materials and neuromorphic devices using X-ray coherent diffractive imaging and nanofabrication methods.

Formación

• A solid background in optics, nanofabrication and/or condensed matter physics is desirable.
• This position is supported by an FPI fellowship from the Agencia Estatal de Investigacion of Spain.
• We especially welcome applications from women and other under-represented groups in physics.

Responsabilidades

• Manufacture structured ferroelectric films for demonstration of a nonlinear X-ray imaging method.
• Produce current-switched memristive devices from quantum materials and study nanoscale switching dynamics with coherent X-ray imaging.
• Carry out experiments at the ultrafast XUV imaging beamline at IMDEA and at large-scale X-ray facilities worldwide.
