Fundación IMDEA Nanociencia is seeking a PhD candidate to perform growth and static characterization of novel nanomaterials, and to develop experimental laser setups in a dynamic research environment in Spain. The role involves characterizing dynamical processes with optical methods, assisting in reports and protocols, and applying for fellowships and grants.

Flexibility to travel is required, with a 4-year contract starting Oct 2026.

Formación

• MS in condensed matter physics
• Fluent English and Spanish
• Teamwork, flexibility and multitasking
• Experience in growth and characterization of materials' magnetic, electronic and structural properties
• Experience in spectroscopy and microscopy is valuable
• Python programming and 3D modelling advantageous
• Willingness to travel

Responsabilidades

• Growth and static characterization of novel nanomaterials
• Characterization of dynamical processes and control with optical methods
• Develop experimental laser setups
• Assist in the preparation of reports and protocols
• Apply for fellowships and grants
• Support experiments at large scale facilities such as synchrotrons and FELs
